Powder Press is a technique used by Appiani on their mosaic tiles whereby the enamels and clays are ground separately then layered and pressed together creating a penetrating bond between glaze and clay biscuit. The firing cycle at temperatures of over 1,200°C enhances the exceptional qualities making the final product extremely resistant to impact, abrasion and frost. The flat masonry and a slightly rounded glazed surface allow for perfect adhesion of the tiles during installation. Such features make these ceramic mosaics highly versatile for both indoor and outdoor, floor and wall. They enhance any space preserving their beauty and resistance over time.
